The week of July 26, 2021 was vaccination week in Westlawn Gardens and surrounding neighborhoods when community mobilizers and nursing personnel walked door-to-door to offer educational materials about Covid-19 vaccines and immediate vaccinations. The vaccine canvas was a partnership between HACM, MHD, Jump at the Sun Consultants, MFD, the Westlawn Resident Council and Silver Spring Neighborhood Center. Prior to the canvass, neighborhood residents were recruited and trained to work with healthcare staff to encourage their neighbors to help close gaps in vaccination rates.
