Historic Milwaukee's popular annual "Doors Open" tours of city landmarks came to Milwaukee's Northwest Side with a visit to Westlawn Gardens on September 22. The Westlawn Resident Council was named the Resident Council of the Year at the annual conference of the National Alliance of Resident Services in Affordable and Assisted Housing (NAR-SAAH) in Charlotte, NC on September 20.

On October 10, HUD Regional Administrator Joe Galvan joined Mayor Barrett and other dignitaries to award Marquette University and the Near West Side Partners a $1.3 million Choice Neighborhood planning grant!
