Milwaukee Bucks, Froedtert and Medical College of Wisconsin Learning Center Officially Opens

This past week, the Milwaukee Bucks, Froedtert, and the Medical College of Wisconsin unveiled the new Froedtert and Medical College of Wisconsin Learning Center at Carmen School of Science and Technology Northwest Campus. Over the next five years, the new learning center will serve as a hub for hands-on training in healthcare careers for 300 Carmen students and low-income adults. As Milwaukee Bucks President Peter Feigin said at the event: "Often times, students may have a challenging curriculum, but no specific career pathway, or little opportunity to learn the 'life skills and soft skills' that are essential in virtually any career pathway. This program blends all of those elements -- and on top of it, focuses on both adults and children in Milwaukee's Choice Neighborhood."

The media preview included a presentation by the CNI Steering Committee's own Brenden Ward, who talked about an IT internship pilot program he participated in this summer. Learn more about the new center and check out photos in these great articles from BizTimes and OnMilwaukee.
