Thanksgiving Meal Brings People Together
A coalition of neighborhood groups led by the Milwaukee Community Schools Partnership, Westlawn Resident Council, Silver Spring Neighborhood Center (SSNC), Browning Elementary, Safe & Sound, Housing Authority and the Choice Neighborhood Initiative hosted a free Thanksgiving dinner for the neighborhood on November 15th at SSNC. Westlawn Gardens was recently featured in a radio tour on Milwaukee Public Radio's Lake Effect to highlight unique features of the neighborhood and to promote Jane's Walk MKE. Greenhouse Revitalization Project Begins at Browning Elementary
Students at Browning Elementary will soon have a revitalized greenhouse to engage in hands-on learning experiences!
This Browning Elementary Greenhouse Revitalization Project will be a three-year project led by Dr. Mike Carriere, an MSOE professor, MSOE honors students, and students from Browning, Thurston Woods, and Kluge elementary schools. Their work will be supported by volunteers from Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful (KGMB).
